Got several quotes before we went with GBC and we're so glad we did. Our project manager Sel was terrific and made sure that everything was done to the highest standard, even doing additional work that went beyond the scope of the project. Highly recommend this company for your kitchen remodel - great price and great work! We even had several follow up projects for them and they did the same great job again so they are pretty consistent. Highly recommend!

We could not be happier with our experience with GBC. When the only bathroom in our 80 year old condo had a serious plumbing issue we decided it was time to finally renovate the entire bathroom. I frantically called over a dozen companies. Ray from GBC came over the following morning for a consultation/estimate and we immediately felt confident in working with him (even our skittish cat stayed out in the room with him there). After meeting with a few other companies for estimates we knew going with Ray and GBC was the right decision. He kept the showroom open late to accommodate us in order to get moving as soon as possible and helped us swiftly pick everything that would go into our new bathroom. He worked late into the evening to get us the proposal that same night.
Just days later work started and we met Sal our project manager as well as Alex who captained the crew. Alex and his team did phenomenal work, and immediately responded/addressed minor issues that arose along the way. Sal was always a text or call away for our questions and concerns. His professionalism and diligence were everything we could ask for in our project manager. Our price quoted was the final price we paid, materials and craftsmanship are all top notch, timelines were expedited and kept. The crew cleaned up well after themselves but GBC also sent a cleaning crew for a final touch up/polish.
We will absolutely return to GBC for any projects in the future, thank you so much to the entire team at GBC Kitchen & Bath!

Updated on Sept to 5 stars:
Follow up service was very good. Appreciate Sal coming by very promptly to follow up on a couple of items.
Original:
This is the 2nd time that we have worked with GBC because we had a very good experience doing a kitchen renovation at our previous home with them before. This time, we renovated two bathrooms at our current house. Overall, we had mostly a positive experience & would consider working with them again.
Pros:
1) Both bathrooms turned out beautifully and we were happy with the quality & look of the finished product.
2) Our designer Fabien who we worked with before was very attentive to our needs and worked with us on our budget. He's very friendly and was a pleasure to work with again.
2) At the start of the project, Fabien, our project manager Sal and crew all met with us at our home to walk through the logistics of the renovations and were very professional & transparent about timelines and what we could expect.
3) Crew was polite, cleaned up at the end of the day and was very respectful of our home.
4) GBC is a one stop shop which we preferred so we didn't have to source materials from different places. I'm sure that there is a built in premium for that in their pricing but they were still pretty reasonable compared to some other quotes that we got.
Cons:
1) They crew came from relatively far away so they didn't get started until about 10am and left around 6pm - a bit tough when kids came home from school but nothing we couldn't work around. It would have been helpful to know their schedule when we were signing the contract - but not a huge issue.
2) There were a couple of instances when we waited at home for the tilers to show up and had to call. We were told that they had a passport appointment in one instance or weren't coming that day. Helpful if we had proactive communication that morning.
3) Unfortunately, we did have a big issue after the renovation of the bathroom on the main floor was completed. The crew alerted me that water was coming up into the shower when the toilet was flushed. They'd just finished the renovation in that bathroom so I called the plumber the next day as the project manager told me that I would need to have the drain cleared. The plumber snaked the toilet drain line and dislodged a rag but indicated that they needed to have the sewer tech check it with the camera the following day. Subsequently, that tech saw additional blockage with another rag beyond the point that the snake could reach. They had to use a high pressure jetter to push the rag out of the line, and told us that it would have recently gone down there otherwise we would have had a major sewage backup before. We never had any problems like that since we bought the house in 2021. I had to follow up a few times with the GBC project manager as we were baffled as to how this could happen and didn't own any rags like the ones that were snaked out - nor were we using the bathroom since it was being renovated. I didn't hear back from GBC until I got a text that they wanted the 3rd payment at which point the project manager .said that he would ask the crew about the rags but I didn't hear back on that until a few weeks later. In good faith, we made our payments and paid in full when both bathrooms were done. However, the plumbing issue cost us an addition $3,000 out of pocket. Eventually, GBC worked with their insurance and indicated that we will get approximately $900 back from the insurance. I asked if they would cover the rest and were told that they would not. As mentioned, this is the second time that we have worked with GBC (total spend of ~$80,000 across the two sets of renovations). However, we were disappointed that the issue was not taken as seriously as we would have expected. Nor did they take any responsibility for this though the timing of the issue was very curious and we knew that the crew used rags for different purposes. Either way, it is what it is but left a bit of a sour taste with us because of the way that this was handled.

Our bathroom is beautiful. Project prep was awesome and the construction crew did a fantastic job on our primary bathroom. They laid down temporary rugs so they don’t track dirt through the house; vacuumed and mopped when they were done each day and asked clarification questions all throughout the entire remodel. We look forward to having our guest bathroom redone by GBC.

[vc_tta_tour style=”outline” color=”black” active_section=”1″][vc_tta_section title=”What is a reasonable budget for a small bathroom remodel in South Riding, VA?” tab_id=”1725955349400-784c918d-6756″]
A reasonable budget for a small bathroom remodel in South Riding, VA, typically ranges from $7,000 to $15,000, depending on the scope of work and the quality of materials used. Factors that influence the cost include the size of the bathroom, the complexity of the design, and the selection of fixtures and finishes.
For an affordable bathroom remodeling project, you might opt for mid-range materials like ceramic tiles, standard fixtures, and pre-fabricated vanities. For a luxury bathroom remodeling, the budget can go higher if you choose premium materials such as marble countertops, custom bathroom cabinets, and designer lighting. To get the most accurate estimate, it’s best to consult with professional bathroom remodelers in South Riding, VA, who can provide tailored bathroom renovation quotes based on your specific needs and preferences.
[/vc_tta_section][vc_tta_section title=”Can I renovate my bathroom for $5000?” tab_id=”1725535435937-5b82d291-2d0b”]
Renovating a bathroom for $5,000 in South Riding, VA, is possible but may require a strategic approach and some compromises. With a budget of $5,000, you can focus on a cosmetic update rather than a full-scale remodel. Here’s what you can achieve within this budget:
Paint and Refresh: A fresh coat of paint in a modern color can instantly brighten your bathroom. Choose neutral or trending shades to make the space feel more updated.
Replace Fixtures: Swap out old faucets, showerheads, and cabinet hardware with modern, affordable options.
Update Lighting: Installing new lighting fixtures can dramatically change the ambiance of your bathroom.
Refinish Instead of Replace: Refinishing the bathtub or re-glazing tiles is a cost-effective way to refresh the space without the expense of full replacements.
However, if you’re looking for a complete transformation with custom bathroom remodel services, it’s advisable to increase your budget or prioritize essential upgrades. For the best outcome, consulting with affordable bathroom remodeling experts in South Riding, VA, will help maximize your investment.
[/vc_tta_section][vc_tta_section title=”What adds the most value to a bathroom in Virginia?” tab_id=”1726472807511-53fea536-d6f5″]
Several upgrades can significantly boost the value of your bathroom, especially if you’re considering a bathroom renovation in South Riding, VA. Key improvements that add the most value include:
Updated Shower or Tub: Replacing an old bathtub with a modern walk-in shower or adding a frameless glass shower enclosure can give your bathroom a high-end feel.
New Vanities and Cabinets: Installing custom bathroom cabinets with ample storage not only enhances functionality but also adds a luxurious touch to your bathroom design.
Energy-Efficient Fixtures: Upgrading to water-saving toilets, faucets, and showerheads can attract buyers looking for eco-friendly homes.
Heated Floors: Heated flooring is a desirable feature that adds a touch of luxury and comfort, especially during colder months in Virginia.
By focusing on these value-adding improvements, you can ensure your bathroom remodel in South Riding, VA, meets both your personal needs and appeals to potential buyers.
[/vc_tta_section][vc_tta_section title=”What is the best resale color for a bathroom?” tab_id=”1725535430998-525179a3-9aab”]
The best resale color for a bathroom in South Riding, VA, tends to be neutral and timeless shades that appeal to a broad range of buyers. Popular colors that work well include:
Soft Grays: Gray tones are versatile and can create a serene and modern look, especially when paired with white trim and sleek fixtures.
Warm Beiges and Taupes: These colors add warmth and work well with natural stone and wood accents, making the bathroom feel inviting.
Classic White: A clean, bright white bathroom feels fresh, spacious, and easy to personalize, making it an excellent choice for resale.
Using these colors in your bathroom makeover in South Riding, VA, helps create a neutral palette that allows potential buyers to envision their style, enhancing your home’s market appeal.
[/vc_tta_section][vc_tta_section title=”How can I make my bathroom look expensive?” tab_id=”1724680283598-d4d13817-ee14″]
To make your bathroom look expensive without breaking the bank, consider these design strategies commonly recommended by bathroom remodeling experts in South Riding, VA:
Upgrade Your Lighting: Swap out basic lighting fixtures for stylish pendants, sconces, or chandeliers to elevate the space instantly.
Use Large Format Tiles: Larger tiles on the floors and walls create a seamless look, making the bathroom appear more spacious and upscale.
Incorporate Statement Mirrors: A beautifully framed mirror can act as a focal point and reflect light, adding depth and sophistication.
Add High-End Finishes: Simple upgrades like brushed gold or matte black fixtures can give your bathroom a designer look. Also, consider incorporating natural elements like stone countertops or wooden accents to add texture and warmth.
Install Custom Bathroom Cabinets: Custom cabinetry not only improves storage but also enhances the overall aesthetic of your bathroom.
These enhancements can create a luxurious bathroom feel without the cost of a full-scale luxury bathroom remodeling in South Riding, VA
[/vc_tta_section][vc_tta_section title=”Do walk-in showers lower home value?” tab_id=”1725628998998-134a2261-7d23″]
Walk-in showers are highly desirable and do not typically lower home value. In fact, they can enhance the appeal of a modern bathroom remodel in South Riding, VA, especially when paired with stylish glass enclosures and quality tile work. However, it’s essential to consider your home’s overall layout and the needs of potential buyers:
Maintain a Tub in the Home: If your home has multiple bathrooms, it’s advisable to keep at least one bathtub, as families with young children often look for this feature.
Consider Accessibility: Walk-in showers are seen as a practical choice, especially for aging homeowners who need accessible and safe bathing options.
A walk-in shower is often viewed as a contemporary upgrade that can increase your home’s value, particularly when executed with quality materials and expert bathroom remodeling services in South Riding, VA.
[/vc_tta_section][vc_tta_section title=”How much does it cost to remodel a bathroom in Virginia?” tab_id=”1725628966375-1767103a-3dc1″]
The cost of bathroom remodeling in South Riding, VA, can vary significantly based on factors like the size of your bathroom, the scope of the project, material choices, and labor costs in Loudoun County. Here’s a general range:
Cosmetic Refresh (under $10,000): This might include repainting, updating fixtures (faucet, lighting, mirror), installing a new showerhead, and adding storage solutions.
Mid-Range Remodel ($10,000 – $30,000): This level allows for replacing the vanity, toilet, and bathtub/shower, updating flooring and lighting, and potentially adding a new backsplash.
High-End Renovation ($30,000+): This encompasses a complete overhaul with high-end materials, custom cabinetry, a luxurious walk-in shower, heated floors, and potentially expanding the bathroom’s footprint.
[/vc_tta_section][vc_tta_section title=”What to do when your only bathroom is being renovated?” tab_id=”1724680491884-bb9bf07f-7d50″]
Having your only bathroom out of commission can be challenging. Here are some tips for navigating this situation during your bathroom renovation in South Riding, VA:
Timeline Planning: Work closely with your contractor to establish a realistic timeline for the project. Knowing the duration of each phase can help you prepare.
Temporary Bathroom Setup: If feasible, consider setting up a temporary bathroom in another area of your home, such as a basement or laundry room. This might involve a portable toilet, a basic shower stall, and a utility sink.
Negotiate Bathroom Use: If you have friendly neighbors or nearby family members, explore the possibility of using their bathroom during specific times of day.
Utilize Other Facilities: Gyms, community centers, and even some campgrounds offer shower facilities that you can use for a fee.
[/vc_tta_section][vc_tta_section title=”How do you shower when your bathroom is being renovated?” tab_id=”1724680283598-cb20f63b-d810″]
Maintaining personal hygiene during a bathroom remodel requires some creativity. Here are some options:
Temporary Shower Stall: If space allows, your contractor might be able to install a temporary shower stall in another area of your home, such as the basement or laundry room.
Gym Memberships: Consider joining a local gym or fitness center that offers shower facilities. This can provide a comfortable and convenient option for daily showers.
Sponge Baths: While not ideal, sponge baths using a basin of warm water can help you feel refreshed.
Visiting Friends or Family: If possible, ask friends or family members if you can use their shower facilities during the renovation.
[/vc_tta_section][vc_tta_section title=”How do you prepare a bathroom for remodeling?” tab_id=”1725973348506-cdfaf56b-601c”]
Proper preparation is key to a smooth and efficient bathroom renovation in South Riding, VA:
Clear the Space: Remove all toiletries, towels, rugs, shower curtains, and any other personal items from the bathroom.
Empty Cabinets and Drawers: Pack up everything from your vanity, medicine cabinet, and any other storage areas. Label boxes for easy unpacking later.
Protect Non-Removable Items: Cover the toilet and bathtub/shower with drop cloths or plastic sheeting to protect them from dust and debris. If you’re keeping your existing vanity, cover it as well.
Disconnect Utilities: Turn off the water supply to the bathroom. If you’re comfortable doing so, you can also disconnect the water lines to the sink and toilet. If not, your contractor will handle this.
Cover Flooring and Adjacent Areas: Lay down drop cloths or rosin paper to protect your floors from damage during demolition and construction. If the bathroom is connected to other areas of your home, seal off the doorways with plastic sheeting to contain dust.
[/vc_tta_section][vc_tta_section title=”What is the most expensive part of a bathroom remodel in South Riding, VA?” tab_id=”1726489053979-275fd6dd-489c”]
While costs vary depending on your specific choices and the scope of your project, some elements typically represent a larger portion of your bathroom remodel budget in South Riding, VA:
Moving Plumbing Fixtures: Relocating plumbing pipes for sinks, toilets, or showers can significantly increase labor and material costs. If you’re working within a budget, consider keeping plumbing fixtures relatively close to their existing locations.
Custom Shower Enclosures: Large, frameless glass shower enclosures, especially those with intricate tile work or custom features, can be a significant expense. Explore cost-effective alternatives like framed enclosures or shower curtains if budget is a concern.
High-End Fixtures and Finishes: Luxury bathroom fixtures, such as freestanding soaking tubs, rainfall showerheads, and designer faucets, can quickly drive up costs. Consider your priorities and balance splurges with more budget-friendly options for other fixtures.
[/vc_tta_section][vc_tta_section title=”What is the correct order to remodel a bathroom?” tab_id=”1726494113010-ad0de154-39be”]
Following a logical order during your bathroom remodel in South Riding, VA, ensures efficiency and minimizes disruptions. Here’s a typical sequence:
Design and Planning: The crucial first step involves defining your vision, setting a budget, creating a functional and stylish layout with the help of expert bathroom design in South Riding, VA, and selecting materials.
Demolition: The existing bathroom fixtures, flooring, and any walls being removed are carefully demolished and disposed of properly.
Rough-In: This phase involves any necessary electrical, plumbing, and HVAC modifications or additions based on your new bathroom design.
Inspections: Local building codes in Loudoun County often require inspections at various stages, including rough-in work, to ensure compliance.
Flooring: New flooring is installed, whether it’s tile, vinyl, or another material you’ve chosen, ensuring proper waterproofing in wet areas.
Shower/Tub Installation: Your chosen shower or bathtub unit is installed, followed by tiling or wall surround installation.
Vanity and Countertop Installation: The bathroom vanity is installed, followed by the countertop and sink installation.
Toilet Installation: The toilet is installed and connected to the plumbing.
Fixtures and Accessories: Lighting fixtures, faucets, towel bars, mirrors, and other accessories are installed.
Painting and Finishing Touches: Walls and ceilings are painted, and any final trim work is completed.
Cleanup and Walk-Through: A thorough cleaning is done, and you’ll have a final walk-through with your contractor to ensure everything meets your satisfaction.
